Weiland checks into jail

Rocker Scott Weiland has begun his eight-day jail sentence after pleading guilty to drink driving charges.

Reports suggest the singer checked himself into a California prison on Monday.

Weiland was given until May 28 to complete 192 hours behind bars, but the rocker chose to start his jail time early so he could tour with the newly-reformed Stone Temple Pilots from May 17.

The singer pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol with a prior conviction last month.
