Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner is leading the nominations at Britain's Mojo Magazine Awards - with his original band and his side project The Last Shadow Puppets receiving nods in two categories apiece.

Arctic Monkeys are nominated for best album for 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' and best live act, while The Last Shadow Puppets compete in the best song category for 'The Age of the Understatement' and in the best breakthrough act category.

Welsh singer/songwriter Duffy goes up against both acts - competing with the Arctic Monkeys for the best album award for her debut LP 'Rockferry', and The Last Shadow Puppets for best breakthrough act and best song for 'Mercy'.

Legendary rockers Led Zeppelin also received a nod in the best live act category after they reformed for a comeback concert in December last year.

Frontman Robert Plant is also up for the best album gong for 'Raising Sands' - his collaboration with Alison Krauss.

The awards will be announced at a ceremony in London on June 16.
