'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' satisfies on all levels

Director: Nicolas Stoller

Cast: Jason Segal, Russell Brand, Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis

Cert: 12

It’s not what it at first appears: a rom-com about a guy (Segal) being dumped by TV star girlfriend (Bell) who takes off to Hawaii to forget, only to have her turn up with her pop star new squeeze (Brand).

No chick flick this, but a rounded, funny, well-written, well-directed and well-played film that satisfies on all levels.

It might seem like any number of recent films about thwarted romance – witless and shallow – but it’s clearly cut from superior cloth, full of funny, romantic and telling moments that give it pace and high entertainment value.

Star Rating: 5/5
