Barbara Streisand has cancelled a planned appearance at Israel's 60th anniversary celebrations next month.

Barbara Streisand has cancelled a planned appearance at Israel's 60th anniversary celebrations next month.

The veteran star was due to attend a convention in Jerusalem, hosted by the country's president Shimon Peres, on May 13, where she was expected to perform a rendition of Hebrew prayer Avinu Malkeinu (Our Father Our King).

According to a spokesperson for Peres' office, Streisand gave no explanation for pulling out of the event.
