Alien shock awaits Doctor Who's assistant
Doctor Who’s new assistant Donna is in for a shock when she visits her first alien world.
The Ood were last seen falling into a black hole a couple of series ago – but they return in tonight’s episode in the fourth series of the Bafta award-winning drama.
And on the planet Ood-Sphere, the pair (played by David Tennant and Catherine Tate) discover terrible truths about the human race.
As the enslaved Ood struggle for survival, a secret buried for 200 years threatens to rise up and engulf them all.
'Blackaddder' and 'Notting Hill' actor Tim McInnerny guest stars in the episode.
Head Writer and Executive Producer Russell T Davies, said: “We’re delighted The Ood are making a welcome return to Doctor Who.
“They were last seen falling into a black hole back in series two and we think it’s only fair for the viewers to find out what the Ood have to say for themselves!
“Donna is certainly in for a shock.”
The couple’s weird and wonderful adventures throughout the series include travelling through time for an encounter with novelist Agatha Christie and visiting an intergalactic holiday spa.
Guest stars appearing this series include Felicity Kendal, Lesley Sharp, Georgia Moffett, Lindsey Coulson, Fenella Woolgar, Christopher Ryan and Michael Brandon.
Freema Agyeman, who played Martha Jones The Doctor’s companion throughout the third series also returns to the show to join him and Donna mid-series.
