Oscar-nominated director 'hates' Oscar night

Oscar-nominated Terry George, back in his native city to launch the Belfast Film Festival, had some down-to-Earth comments about life in Hollywood, where he now lives.

The man behind 'Hotel Rwanda', 'In the Name of the Father', 'Some Mother’s Son' and the new 'Reservation Road' isn’t a big fan of the Oscars.

George said: "I don’t like the whole system. I hate the night itself because it’s not a pleasant experience for those participating.

"It’s a necessary evil, however, to get money to make the kind of movies I do."
