'Legendary' illustrator to participate in Walliams novel
Award-winning illustrator Quentin Blake will provide drawings for 'Little Britain' star David Walliams’s debut novel.
Walliams’s children’s book 'The Boy in the Dress' is due to be published in October.
Walliams said he had been a childhood fan of Blake, who famously collaborated with Roald Dahl.
Publisher HarperCollins, which made the announcement, said the story is packed with the “sharp humour and vivid characters”.
It described the story as “a fable about what happens when an ordinary boy does something extraordinary and the way that people, even the petty and cruel, can surprise you in the end”.
Blake’s black and white drawings are interspersed throughout the book.
Walliams said: “I am thrilled beyond measure to be working with the legendary Quentin Blake.
“I have adored his work since I was a child, and having him illustrate the book is a great honour.”
