Blanchett gives birth to third son

Cate Blanchett has given birth to her third child.

Australia’s Daily Telegraph is reporting that Blanchett delivered son Ignatius Martin Upton today in Sydney.

Blanchett and her playwright husband, Andrew Upton, have two other sons: six-year-old Dashiell and three-year-old Roman.

Tim McKeough, media relations manager at the Sydney Theatre Company, where Blanchett and her playwright husband are co-artistic directors, said: “All are well and very happy.”

The newborn weighed nearly eight pounds, he said.

The Academy Award-winning actress next appears with Harrison Ford in the movie 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull', due in cinemas in May.
