'30 Days of Night' is a well-directed horror
GORE seems to be the order of the day lately, so it’s no surprise that 30 Days of Night (Icon, €27.99) delivers copious amounts.
This two-disc special edition concentrates on Barrow, Alaska, a town which for 30 days is engulfed in darkness. Enter a bunch of strangers who just happen to be vampires looking for fresh victims.
Sheriff Eben (Josh Hartnett) and estranged wife Stella (Melissa George) try to help a bunch of survivors battle the enemy in David Slade’s well-directed horror.
An excellent collection of special features includes plenty of featurettes that look at everything from special effects casting decisions to a look at how closely the production followed Steven Niles’ graphic novel, this is an excellent package that will definitely add to your enjoyment — assuming you like vampire films.
