'Leatherheads' better than most rom-coms

Another charmer from Clooney, albeit a fairly lightweight one … but better than most rom-coms hitting our screens.

He plays a pro footballer who brings in hot-shot Krasinski to boost the team’s stumbling progress … while ace journo Zellweger tries to nail down some rumours about the former.

The plot runs at a decent pace, there are plenty of great lines, there is no end of fun and entertainment … but somehow there is something not quite sparking in the Clooney-Zellweger chemistry.

Set in the l920s, it’s not the worst film you’ll see this year, just not quite as good as you expect.
