'Underdog' is undemanding entertainment

Originally a l970s cartoon series, this update about a beagle turned supermutt is a decent kiddies’ film that delivers on the fun and action and doesn’t expect the audience to demand much more.

Lee lends voice to the tale – tail? – of the ex-bomb-seeking Shoeshine who is transformed into a sort of caped, four-legged crusader by a mad scientist who, in turn, reckons our hero might help him take over the world as we know it.

It’s undemanding entertainment.
