Mike Leigh DVD collection worth a look

The 'Mike Leigh DVD Collection' (Thin Man Films, €84.99) is the complete package for one of Britain’s more challenging directors. Leigh has never been afraid to tackle tough social themes such as abortion (in 'Vera Drake').

There is the heart-wrenching 'Secrets & Lies', the shocking 'Naked', 'Meantime', set in Thatcher’s grim England — plus 'High Hopes', which also draws on the Thatcher backdrop.

Also featured are 'Happy-Go-Lucky', 'Life is Sweet', 'Career Girls', 'All or Nothing' and 'Topsy-Turvey'.
