Simpson in hospital with kidney infection

Singer/actress Jessica Simpson has been hospitalised with a minor kidney infection.

The 27-year-old checked into Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Friday complaining of "feeling achy" and suffering a "fever", reports US publication In Touch Weekly.

Simpson has responded well to treatment and is expected to be released later on Monday , according to her representative.
