Anyone familiar with Richard Kelly’s excellent Donnie Darko will be disappointed with Southland Tales (Universal, e24.99), the eagerly awaited follow-up.

Unfortunately, this less than convincing drama not only fails to fit a clear category, but also gets lost in a post-9/11 mess.
