The husband of singer Corinne Bailey Rae has been found dead from a suspected overdose, sources said today.

Jason Rae, 31, a saxophonist with the Haggis Horns, was discovered at a flat in Leeds in England yesterday.

West Yorkshire Police said officers investigating the death had arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs. He was later released on bail pending further inquiries.

A forensic post-mortem examination was carried out on the body last night. A police spokesman said the results were inconclusive and police were awaiting toxicology test reports.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "At 3.15pm yesterday police were called to a flat in the Hyde Park area of Leeds, where they found the body of 31-year-old man.

“As a result of inquiries a 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs. He has now been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

“A forensic post mortem was conducted last night, the results of which were inconclusive and we are now awaiting the results of toxicology tests.”

He said police expected to release the name of the dead man later today.

The Haggis Horns had been due to play a gig at the HiFi Club in Leeds tonight.

The club confirmed that the concert had been cancelled.
