Blunt preferred life in the army
Singer James Blunt misses his time serving in the British army - insisting his role as a soldier was much easier than that of a pop star.
Prior to embarking on a career in music, the 'You're Beautiful' hitmaker was an officer in the Life Guards unit of the British Army, and served as a member of the Nato peacekeeping force in Kosovo.
Blunt - who has been the subject of ridicule over his "posh" persona - is convinced he was happier when he was serving his country as his army peers never made fun of his background.
He says: "I was really comfortable in the Army, really at home there. I miss how non-judgemental soldiers are. At school, when I was very young, I remember someone calling me posh, and I hadn't been called posh until I got into this industry.
"In the army we were reliant on each other and no one cared about my background. Now I'm in the most judgemental industry in the world."
