Meteor award winners Aslan are to help raise thousands of euro for sick children, it emerged today.

The veteran Dublin band are headlining a charity gig for Dublin’s Temple Street Children’s University Hospital on April 6.

The Blizzards, The Coronas, Delorentos and Television Room are also on the bill for the FM104 'Help a Dublin Child' event at the Olympia venue.

Aslan, who recently marked 25 years in the music business, won the Best Irish Band gong at the Meteor Music Awards last month.

A band spokesman: “The lads promise to sing all the favourites to get the audience going and also have some surprise songs up their sleeves.”

TV personality Keith Duffy will make a special appearance along with RTE’s ’Working Girls’ comic Katherine Lynch.

“We are thrilled that Aslan have come on board. All proceeds from ticket sales go to Temple Street Children’s University Hospital,” said FM104 programme director Dave Kelly.
