Fine performances in ‘Mr Brooks’

Kevin Costner may have disappeared off the cinema radar in the past few years, but he returns to form in ‘Mr Brooks’ (Fox, €24.99), playing a pillar of society who happens to have a secret — he’s a serial killer, known as the Thumbprint Killer.

Managing to keep his worlds apart through his alter ego Marshall (William Hurt), he makes his first mistake when a photographer accidentally stumbles across his latest killing spree and tries to blackmail him.
