There must be something in the Hollywood water that makes them bring back, time and again, dull old scripts about nutters trying to off the President, with sub-plots and bodies littering the screen.

This one is no different than many that have gone before: the shooting, the confusion, the search for the gunman, the conspiracy theory, the agents, the chases.

And none of it really grabs our attention since there’s nothing off-centre or inventive about the tired storyline.
