Anna M

Director: Michel Spinosa

Cast: Isabelle Carre, Anne Consigny, Gilbert Meikl

Cert: 15

When love turns to mad obsession we usually get a film that is, at least, interesting, but in this French clone of Fatal Attraction we are delivered a tale that is well into OTT melodrama.

Only the fine acting of the obsessed Carre – the Anna of the title who finds herself in hospital suffering from depression and obsession for her handsome doctor (Meikl) – carries us through the increasing anxiety of his not knowing how to handle the situation.

It’s certainly a film that tries to look at how Anna’s life is falling apart, but somehow we are left with little to care about.

Star Rating: 2/5
