Bjork dropped from Serbian festival

Icelandic star Bjork has been dropped from the line-up of a music festival in Serbia, after she allegedly made pro-Kosovan remarks at a concert in Japan.

The singer was due to perform at the Exit festival in Novi Sad, Serbia, in July but organisers cancelled her appearance shortly after it was reported

Bjork dedicated a track called Declare Independence to the Balkan state of Kosovo at a show in Tokyo. Kosovo recently broke away from Serbian rule after years of turmoil in the region, but Serbia has refused to acknowledge the state's declaration of independence.

Although festival bosses insisted the gig was cancelled over security fears, Bjork is convinced her comments were the reason they cancelled the gig.

She says: "Maybe a Serb attended my concert and called home, and therefore the concert in Novi Sad was cancelled."
