Supermodel attacks post-op party reports

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has hit out at “ludicrous” reports she is planning a party from her hospital bedside.

Earlier this week, Campbell underwent four-and-a-half hours of surgery at a hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to remove a cyst.

The Brazilian press is reporting that the 37-year-old is throwing a lavish party on the day she leaves hospital.

The model said in a statement: “I take my health very seriously, so to suggest that I would host a party following an operation is ludicrous.

“I would like to thank everyone for their kind wishes and concern over the past week and for the fantastic service I have received at the hospital. I will now be recuperating with my friends in private.”

The English-born model underwent a four-and-a-half hour laparoscopy procedure on Monday.

A friend said: “The suggestion that she would throw a party as soon as she leaves is ridiculous and makes light of what she has been through over the last few days.”
