We have here the sort of soft-centred romance that can best be described as nice. There’s a lot about it that makes for an undemanding cuddly feel, and the cast makes the best of it.
But, somehow, for all the warm glow and the who-will-she-choose dilemma it’s just a nice little film in which Thurman plays the ultra-successful broadcaster and writer Emma who is about to marry her solid Firth. She’s into conventional and solid.
Then she discovers she’s actually married already – only it’s something she didn’t seem aware of – to happy-go-lucky Morgan … and suddenly conventional and solid don’t hold the same appeal.
Who will she finally select?
It’s all rather nice.
