Skating judge in dash to be at birth

'Dancing on Ice' judge Nicky Slater is set to miss tonight’s show after his wife went into labour.

The skater’s dash from rehearsals in Elstree to Brighton to be by his wife Christianne’s side has left bosses in a quandary.

An ITV spokeswoman said it is unlikely Slater will make it back in time for tonight’s live broadcast at 6pm.

Slater is one of five judges who vote on which of the bottom two celebrity skaters should leave the show. His absence could result in a tie-break situation, if the remaining judges sit as a panel of four.

The couple married last May and this will be their first child.
