Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's adoption of four-year-old Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt has been formally approved in a Los Angeles court.

Jolie adopted Pax from an orphanage in Vietnam last year, after a Vietnamese judge approved the adoption.

On Wednesday, a Los Angeles County Children's Court judge legally made Pax a member of Jolie and Pitt's family.

The Hollywood couple have two other adopted children - Cambodian Maddox, six, and two-year-old Ethiopian Zahara - and 20-month-old biological daughter Shiloh.
