Portman to make directorial debut

Natalie Portman is set to make her directorial debut - with a film in Hebrew.

The Israeli-born star - who also speaks French and some Arabic, besides English and Hebrew - will helm the screen adaptation of 'A Tale Of Love And Darkness', Amos Oz's memoir of his childhood in Jersualem in the 1940s, reports the New York Post's gossip column PageSix.

She tells America's W magazine: "I've been reading Oz since high school, and when I read his biography I just sort of saw it."
