Freeman and Nicholson fail to find the chemistry

Given stronger material the pairing of Freeman and Nicholson would surely have produced excellent on-screen chemistry … but here, in a drama only half thought through, they merely appear together.

The pity is that the idea is sound: two men, given a year to live, meet up in hospital and make a list of the things they would like to do in the time remaining.

Alas, though there are touching suggestions regarding family redemption, there is nothing that really grabs our attention, nothing out of the ordinary.
