Actor MacLachlan to be a father

US actor Kyle MacLachlan and his wife, Desiree Gruber, are expecting their first child.

The baby is due this summer, publicist Evelyn Karamanos said.

MacLachlan, 48, starred in Twin Peaks, Sex And The City and Desperate Housewives.

Gruber is an executive producer on the US TV reality show Project Runway. The couple have been married for six years.
