Sorvino writes basketball movie

Mira Sorvino is developing a baseball movie for her sportsman-turned-actor husband Christopher Backus to star in.

Backus was a professional baseball player before quitting the sport to pursue his acting dreams.

The 26-year-old will star in the film, which Sorvino will direct.

The actress, who wed Backus in 2004, says: "The day we penned the first five pages was so exciting. We'd been talking about it for years, but then one day we just hired a babysitter to take the kids to the museum and sat there and banged stuff out."
