Art exhibition twins Dublin and Delhi

Dublin has been twinned with New Delhi in a new exhibition in India by an Irish artist.

Co Carlow native Marc-Ivan O’Gorman explores the similarities between both capital cities in the five-day event next week.

O’Gorman explained: “Dublin and New Delhi resemble each other in terms of traffic, construction, advertising billboards and modes of transport.

“Though culturally very different, both countries share a British colonial past and booming global economic future.”

The exhibition, 'Long Shots and Cutaways', runs in the Mint Gallery in New Delhi from February 5-9.

This event is organised in conjunction with the Embassy of Ireland in New Delhi.

O’Gorman is currently in India on an Arts Council of Ireland travel and mobility bursary.

Also a filmmaker, O’Gorman wrote and directed supernatural thriller 'The Black Magic' in 2003.

Shot in Los Angeles and Bangkok in 2003, the film was released in Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia and dubbed into four languages.

O’Connor studied film-making at the Dublin Institute of Technology and later worked at the New York Film Academy before moving to India.
