Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are poised to announce their engagement, according to reports in the US.

The pair have been dating for a year, following 23-year-old Johansson's split from Josh Hartnett and the end of 31-year-old Reynolds' engagement to fellow Canadian, Alanis Morissette.

The New York Daily News claims Reynolds is ready to make Johansson fiancée number two.
