Stones sign one album deal with rival record company

Legendary rockers The Rolling Stones have further fuelled reports they are to quit record label EMI after signing a one-album deal with rival company Universal.

The British band will release a live CD which was recorded in New York in 2006 to coincide with the launch of Martin Scorcese's Rolling Stones documentary 'Shine A Light in March'.

The move comes after frontman Mick Jagger reportedly raised concerns over the band's contract with EMI after the company announced it was axing 2,000 staff.

The band, which has been with EMI for 16 years, will be free to talk to other labels after that deal ends next month.
