Sarkozy's fiancée is pregnant

French president Nicolas Sarkozy and fiancée Carla Bruni are expecting their first child.

The news comes just days after Sarkozy, 52, told a press conference Tuesday of his engagement to the Italian supermodel, who he reportedly met just weeks after divorcing his ex-wife Celia.

The pair have been dating for less than two months and are said to be planning to wed next month on February 9, although the president has hinted he will marry in a secret ceremony.

He told reporters of the impending nuptials: "There is a strong chance that you will learn about it once it's already been done."

Sarkozy has three children from two previous marriages, while 40-year-old Bruni - who has had romances with Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton - also has a six-year-old son from a past relationship.
