Simpson sits out Romo's big game

Jessica Simpson is staying away from her American football star boyfriend Tony Romo's big game on Saturday - because she fears she will jinx him.

Quarterback Romo's Dallas Cowboys take on the New York Giants in a crucial play-off match. The winner takes a step closer to the Super Bowl in Arizona on 3 February.

Romo has under-performed when Texan Simpson has been cheering him from the stands - so much so, his teammates joked that she should stay away.

And they are getting their wish on Saturday. Her spokesperson Cindy Berger tells the New York Post: "She is not attending. She is working on a new album. She will be watching from home and cheering him (Romo) on."
