Thousands expected to attend Dolan funeral

A massive Garda traffic plan is in operation in Mullingar today to deal with the thousands of people attending the funeral of Joe Dolan.

The 68-year-old entertainer, who passed away on St Stephen's Day, will be laid to rest at Walshestown Cemetery later this morning.

A number of restrictions are in place in Mullingar including a one-way system for traffic using the Main Street

Thousands are expected to attend his funeral mass at the Cathedral of Christ the King at 11pm.

The well known entertainer will be laid to rest at Walshestown Cemetery.

The 68-year-old who enjoyed musical success in Ireland and around the world for over 40 years passed away at the Mater Private Hospital in Dublin on St Stephen's Day after suffering a brain haemorrhage.
