Manics plan a Kylie collaboration
Welsh rockers Manic Street Preachers are planning to perform a show-stopping duet with Kylie Minogue at next year's NME Awards.
The band - who have been crowned 2008's Godlike Geniuses by the British music magazine - are due to headline the London awards ceremony in February.
And they are hoping to make the performance as memorable as possible.
Bass player Nicky Wire says: "I'd like to invite Kylie to do something with us. It just feels like a fantastic opportunity actually. If there's one thing - the best thing about the original Live Aid is when Queen came along and just f**king did it. They didn't bore everyone with album tracks or anything, they just edited it down, it was seamless."
Wire adds: "We've got loads of ideas, there's loads of people we really like, whether they want to I dunno…"
British rockers Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, Klaxons and The Cribs are also playing at the city's O2 Arena gig, which takes place just after the awards ceremony itself.
