'The Chipmunks' were big – well, as big as chipmunks can get – back in the l960s, an annoying trio of ‘munks with squeaky voices. You had to be into chipmunks to appreciate them, even when they churned out a couple of hit platters.

Here, in an annoying film aimed at the easy-to-please kiddies, they return to write music, get their friend (human Lee) into trouble and talk with squeaky voices.

Kiddies will probably love them and it will pass 90 innocent minutes away from the Yuletide rush for adults.
