Jolie thanks Pitt for comforting her after mother's death

Angleina Jolie has praised Brad Pitt for the "extraordinary" way he comforted her in the aftermath of her mother's death earlier this year.

The 'Tomb Raider' actress, who lost her mum Marcheline Bertrand to cancer in January, is grateful to Pitt for helping her to focus on the happiness she'd shared with her mother over the years.

Jolie tells British magazine Grazia: "He is just a great friend and when my mother passed, he was so great.

"He sat with me and held (my mother's) hand. After she passed away he spent the night asking me and my brother about our mother and got us to tell funny stories about her.

"He focused on all the love and joy we were fortunate enough to have had. He was extraordinary."
