Jungle star Gest in hospital

'I’m A Celebrity' star David Gest has been admitted to hospital with chest pains and respiratory problems.

The 54-year-old former husband of Liza Minnelli was taken ill at his home in Hampstead, north London, in the early hours of this morning.

He is being treated in a private London hospital.

A spokeswoman said: “At 5.30am, David Gest was admitted to hospital, after suffering from severe chest pains and respiratory problems.

“David is stable and receiving the best medical attention. We are awaiting a further update from doctors.”

Gest set up home in Britain after finding fame on 'I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!' and last week appeared in panto in west London.

His health problems come days after ex-wife Minnelli collapsed as she came off stage in Sweden. She is now being treated by doctors in the US.
