Ireland had a good day when the nominations for the 65th Golden Globe Awards were announced.

Thirteen-year-old Saoirse Ronan got a place in the race for Best Supporting Actress for her outstanding performance in Atonement, a role that has also earned her a Critics’ Choice nomination.
