Goodrem silenced by throat infection

Australian singer Delta Goodrem has been forced to postpone a forthcoming gig at the Sydney Opera House after inflaming an existing throat infection.

The 23-year-old, who has been suffering from the illness for several months, was ordered by doctors to rest her vocal chords to prevent any longterm damage to her voice.
