Spice Girls to perform on 'Strictly Come Dancing'

The Spice Girls will be performing on hit BBC1 TV show 'Strictly Come Dancing', it was announced today.

But instead of doing a foxtrot or rumba, the band will sing their classic hit '2 Become 1'.

The group’s own professional dancers will also take to the stage while the Spice Girls perform on the Sunday semi-final show.

Sunday’s performance marks a victory for 'Strictly Come Dancing', which has been going head-to-head on Saturday nights with Simon Cowell’s ITV show 'The X Factor'.

Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Mel C and Victoria Beckham open their first British show in their reunion tour on Saturday night at London’s o2 Arena.

The Spice Girls’ own careers have received a boost from 'Strictly Come Dancing' in recent years.

Mel B came second last month in the hit US version of the show, 'Dancing With The Stars', and her bandmates turned up to support her.

In 2006, Baby Spice reached the semi-finals of 'Strictly Come Dancing' with partner Darren Bennett.

The Spice Girls’ performance on the BBC1 show will be pre-recorded on Friday.

Alesha Dixon, Gethin Jones and Matt Di Angelo are all battling it out in the final.
