Kidman's lingerie saved her wardrobe malfunction blushes

Actress Nicole Kidman is thankful for her tasteful choice in lingerie - because her undergarments saved her from complete embarrassment when she recently took to the red carpet in a transparent dress.

The Moulin Rouge! Star had spent five minutes signing autographs for fans outside the ARIA Awards in Sydney, Australia, in October, before realising why the crowds were welcoming her with rapturous cheers.

She tells British radio station Heart FM: "That was terrible. I got out of the car and it was sunny, so I was like, 'Oh my gosh,' and kept asking my husband, 'Is my dress see-through?' And he went: 'Yep.' So I was like: 'Give me my coat!'

"I didn't realise (the photographers) had got me. But I do wear lingerie, so we weren't in dire straits."
