Stars brave rain for ‘Bee Movie’ premiere
Hollywood stars including Renee Zellweger and Jerry Seinfeld braved a downpour in London tonight to attend the UK premiere of the hit animation ‘Bee Movie’.
“I’m so wet,” gasped Bridget Jones actress Zellweger, who was sporting a new cropped hairstyle at the west end event.
“My Carolina Herrera dress weighs about six stone”.
The Paramount film, which as grossed more than $130m (€88.8m) overseas, follows the tale of a spirited bee named Barry (Seinfeld) who tries to sue the human race for selling honey for profit.
‘Bee Movie’ is Seinfeld’s first venture into feature animation and he says that a highlight was working with Zellweger, who voices a human being, a florist named Vanessa.
“I changed her line and she changed mine,” he said. “She is very quick witted.”
The voice cast also included the comic talents of Matthew Broderick, John Goodman and Chris Rock.
Stand-up comic Seinfeld has admitted that the animation, which he co-wrote, produced and starred in has been a labour of love, but one of which he is immensely proud.
“I’ve seen it hundreds of times, but I still really enjoy it,” he said.
