Cusack threatened to sack agent over movie role

John Cusack threatened to sack his agent if they failed to win him the lead role in 1999 film 'Being John Malkovich'.

Cusack was desperate to test his talents in the offbeat film - and was even more sure it was the right decision when Malkovich himself endorsed the script.
