Christopher Biggins was crowned king of the jungle tonight as the public voted him the winner of this year’s series of 'I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here'.

“It’s been a wonderful, wonderful experience and I can’t believe that I’m here, that I’ve done it,” he effused.

“I’ve made wonderful friends and I’ve done wonderful things that I never thought I would do. Unbelievable fun, it was just the best.

“There was a bit of friction but listen, you put 11 people together and there’s bound to be friction.”

The tense results followed a dramatic day, in which the contestants faced their own personal nightmares.

Biggins was given the Bushtucker Bonanza on his final trial.

He was asked to eat witchetty grub, a crocodile’s foot, three cockroaches, a kangaroo penis, and the final dish – kangaroo testicles.

He joked while eating the penis: “I’m really a breast man”.

At the sight of the last dish, he cried: “Aaaaarrrgh, it’s revolting.”

Throwing it into his mouth, he stood up sharply and chewed away.

“Has it popped yet?” asked Ant.

As Biggins nodded and kept chewing, Dec wondered: “Has it exploded?”

Jason “J” Brown , who was the first to leave, said: “I’ve had a blast of a time. I love being outdoors.

“At one stage it was a bit tense in there, there were lots of big personalities. The younger group didn’t have a bad word with one another, it was the older ones.”

Runner-up Janice Dickinson won five stars in her final Bushtucker Trial - despite being bitten by a rat.

Medics were called to the I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! camp after she was attacked on her hand by the rodent.

The self-proclaimed “world’s first supermodel” was sleeping peacefully in the early hours when she suddenly leapt up looking petrified.

At first Dickinson, 52, thought that she had been bitten by a snake.

The loudmouthed US star said later that she had felt a sharp pain while dreaming.

She said: “It bit me right to the bone. I could feel it go chomp.

“The blood was coming out, I think I need a rabies shot. It was going for the food.”

Later, Dickinson won five stars in her final Bushtucker Trial and overcame her fear of cockroaches.

As a box of mealworms was dropped on her left arm, she shouted: “Oh my god, this is so gross, they are fornicating. I don’t want them crawling up me!”

She shouted to Ant and Dec: “They are going up my pants”.

As Ant and Dec collapsed in fits of laughter, Dickinson was told green ants were about to be poured on her right leg.

She responded by falling silent and sticking up her middle finger.

Dec told her that there were two yabbies around her head. “why don’t you just shut up,” she told him. “I’m going to yabbie you”.

Ant announced that the last box contained cockroaches.

Dickinson then lay crying and whining as the crawling cockroaches were poured over her.

As she was released from the handcuff and mopped down by medic Bob, she sobbed: “I’m traumatised.

Later, she told Ant and Dec that she equated the jungle experience to childbirth. “It’s the most difficult thing I’ve ever done,” she said.

“I thought it was a holiday, I thought it was a spa...” she admitted. “I’d do it again, but I miss my children and my boyfriend and the dog.”
