Jake Gyllenhaal is set to play beloved American football rogue Joe Namath in a new biopic.

The quarterback, whose high-living party lifestyle earned the flamboyant stud the nickname 'Broadway Joe', has personally given Gyllenhall permission to play him in the untitled film.
