'Evan Almighty' falls flat

'Evan Almighty' (Universal, €24.99) fails the comedy test as Evan Baxter (Steve Carell) takes up from where he left off in 'Bruce Almighty', this time forsaking his role as newsreader to try and become a congressman.

Unfortunately, it loses itself when animals start popping up around the place ready for a new Noah’s Ark and the mishmash of religion falls rather flat.
