'Shrek the Third' an amusing caper
Back for another helping is 'Shrek the Third' (Paramount, €24.99), just in time for the Christmas market, proving once again there’s life in the old franchise yet.
This time, Shrek’s father-in-law dies, leaving the unfortunate Shrek facing the uncomfortable prospect of taking over as king and enlisting the aid of Donkey and Puss in Boots. To cap it all, Fiona’s jilted Prince Charming has designs on filling the vacancy himself.
Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and pals voice the loveable characters in this amusing caper, a delight for adults and children.
As you’d expect, there are loads of extras, from deleted scenes to futurities. Also available is a double-disc edition with even more goodies, or a triple edition with all three 'Shrek' films.
4/5.
