Nicholson shines in Polanski film noir classic

Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway are outstanding in Roman Polanski’s classic film noir Chinatown SE (Paramount, €24.99). Nicholson plays private detective JJ Gates whose spying on a New York water department engineer lands him up to his neck in intrigue, corruption and double bluff.

As watchable now as then for scintillating performances form the main stars and Polanski’s excellent direction.
